This Trojan arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

This Trojan does the following:

  • This Trojan executes the following PowerShell commands:
    powershell.exe -nop -w hidden -enc {Base64 encoded powershell command}
  • It connects to DNS server and gets a TXT record about the following domain:
    • {3 letters}.stage.9749751.ns1.torayservice.com
    After obtaining each TXT record, the record is decrypted and executed on memory. DNS server to be accessed depends on the environment.

Step 1

  1. Windows Task Manager may not display all running processes. In this case, please use a third-party process viewer, preferably Process Explorer, to terminate the malware/grayware/spyware file. You may download the said tool here.
