This Trojan arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites. It arrives as a component bundled with malware/grayware packages. It may be hosted on a website and run when a user accesses the said website.

This Trojan arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

It arrives as a component bundled with malware/grayware packages.

It may be hosted on a website and run when a user accesses the said website.

NOTES:
It launches a DDoS attack against a target IP address by sending several garbage data using the UDP protocol. It connects to port 53 of the site http://{BLOCKED}.proxyfire.net/fastenv to determine the said target IP address.

It requires additional components in order to execute all of its intended routine.

Step 1

For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.

Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as DDOS_ATTACK.TG. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
