This Trojan arrives as an attachment to email messages spammed by other malware/grayware or malicious users.
It arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.
Download Routine
This Trojan accesses the following websites to download files:
- http://11.{BLOCKED}dates.com/links/leading_weird_checks.php?eoqahs=3303023302&kdeolbxg=0834050a080937370607&ytexi=03&uwz=zshrvx&xwxqxl=styxiklb
It saves the files it downloads using the following names:
- %User Temp%\wpbt0.dll
(Note: %User Temp% is the current user's Temp folder, which is usually C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Local Settings\Temp on Windows 2000, XP, and Server 2003.)
As of this writing, the said sites are inaccessible.
NOTES:
It executes the downloaded file through the following command regsvr32 -s %User Temp%\wpbt0.dll. As a result, the malicious routines of the downloaded file are exhibited on the affected system.

Step 1
For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.
Step 2
Search and delete these files
- %User Temp%\wpbt0.dll
Step 3
Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as TROJ_PIDIEF.UJ If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required.
