Installation
This backdoor injects itself into the following processes running in the affected system's memory:
- SVCHOST.EXE
Autostart Technique
This backdoor registers itself as a system service to ensure its automatic execution at every system startup by adding the following registry entries:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\
Services\RasAuto\Parameters
ServiceDll = {malware path and file name}
Backdoor Routine
This backdoor connects to the following websites to send and receive information:
- {BLOCKED}o.companyinfosite.com
Other Details
This backdoor does the following:
- Once a successful connection is established, the remote user may execute the following command on the affected system:
- start a remote shell
- download and execute other files from the server
- enumerate, start, and kill processes
- enumerate, start, and stop services
- get available drive information

Step 1
For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.
Step 2
Identify and delete files detected as BKDR_LIKSEPUT.A using either the Startup Disk or Recovery Console
Step 3
Delete this registry key
