Spammed LinkedIn and MySpace Fake Confirmation Mails Direct to WikiPharmacy
Data de publicação: 22 abril 2012
Trend Micro researchers spotted another spammed email messages purporting to be from popular social networking sites LinkedIn and MySpace. The mail from LinkedIn asks the users to click on a provided link in order to confirm their email address. Similarly, the spammed mail from MySpace asks the users to confirm the cancellation of their account on the social networking website by clicking on a provided link.
Should the users click upon the links provided in either spammed emails, they will beredirected to WikiPharmacy, a pharmaceutical website, similar to previously-detected spam involving FourSquare, a location-based social networking website.
Users are reminded to always be careful with these types of spam. While the pharmaceutical website that the mails redirect to is not malicious, the cybercriminals behind this could have easily redirect users to a site hosting malware.
