Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Taskman = "%User Profile%\celp.exe"

Propagation

This worm creates the following folders in all removable drives:

  • {drive letter}\rejekto

It drops the following copy(ies) of itself in all removable drives:

  • {drive letter}\rejekto\perfero.exe

It drops an AUTORUN.INF file to automatically execute the copies it drops when a user accesses the drives of an affected system.

The said .INF file contains the following strings:

{garbage}
shell\\Open\\command=rejekto\perfero.exe
{garbage}
action=Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer
{garbage}
Shell\\open\\command=rejekto\perfero.exe

Download Routine

This worm accesses the following websites to download files:

  • http://{BLOCKED}.{BLOCKED}.53.36/zibar/{random number}.exe

It saves the files it downloads using the following names:

  • %User Temp%\{random number}.exe

(Note: %User Temp% is the current user's Temp folder, which is usually C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Local Settings\Temp on Windows 2000, XP, and Server 2003, or C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Local\Temp on Windows Vista and 7.)

It then executes the downloaded files. As a result, malicious routines of the downloaded files are exhibited on the affected system.
