Installation
This Trojan drops the following non-malicious files:
- %Application Data%\\brasil.dat
- %Application Data%\\lst1.dat
- %WINDOWS%\Installer\73192.msi
(Note: %Application Data% is the current user's Application Data folder, which is usually C:\Windows\Profiles\{user name}\Application Data on Windows 98 and ME, C:\WINNT\Profiles\{user name}\Application Data on Windows NT, and C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Local Settings\Application Data on Windows 2000, XP, and Server 2003.)
Step 1
For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.

Search and delete this folder

Please make sure you check the
Search Hidden Files and Folders checkbox in the More advanced options option to include all hidden folders in the search result. %Application Data%\Microsoft\Protect\S-1-5-21-1085031214-261478967-725345543-1132\b67b8c0b-453d-4900-9589-2f6defc22d3c
To delete the malware/grayware folder:
- Right-click Start then click Search... or Find..., depending on the version of Windows you are running.
- In the Named input box, type:
%Application Data%\Microsoft\Protect\S-1-5-21-1085031214-261478967-725345543-1132\b67b8c0b-453d-4900-9589-2f6defc22d3c
- In the Look In drop-down list, select My Computer, then press Enter.
- Once located, select the folder then press SHIFT+DELETE to permanently delete the folder.

There may be some component files that are hidden. Please make sure you check the
Search Hidden Files and Folders checkbox in the "More advanced options" option to include all hidden files and folders in the search result.

To delete malware/grayware component files:
- Search for the following files:
%Application Data%\brasil.dat
%Application Data%\lst1.dat
%WINDOWS%\Installer\73192.msi
Note: To do a search for the following files, right-click Start then click Search... or Find..., depending on the version of Windows you are running. For each file to be deleted, type its file name in the Named input box. In the Look In drop-down list, select My Computer, then press Enter. - Once located, select the file then press SHIFT+DELETE to permanently delete the file.
- Repeat the said steps for all files listed.
Step 4
Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as TROJ_VB.JKI. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
