This Trojan arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

Installation

This Trojan drops the following files:

  • {Malware file path}\Desktop.bat
  • {Malware file path}\Desktop.ins

Autostart Technique

This Trojan adds the following lines or registry entries as part of its routine:

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
    UsbKey = "{Malware file path}\rusbmon.exe" Embedding
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
    UsbKey = "{Malware file path}\rusbmon.dll" Embedding
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
    GrpConv = "grpconv -o"

Step 1
