Installation

This Trojan drops the following copies of itself into the affected system:

  • %Program Files%\{any available directory}

(Note: %Program Files% is the default Program Files folder, usually C:\Program Files.)

Autostart Technique

This Trojan adds the following registry entries to enable its automatic execution at every system startup:

Download Routine

This Trojan accesses websites to download the following files:

  • http://{BLOCKED}un.in/getfile.php?
  • http://{BLOCKED}tarss.in
  • http://{BLOCKED}config.com
  • http://{BLOCKED}odec.com

  • It also connects to the specific sites to possibly download other TROJ_FAKEAV malware.

Step 1

For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.
