Autostart Technique

This Ransomware drops the following file(s) in the Windows User Startup folder to enable its automatic execution at every system startup:

  • %User Startup%\cd445b84-305e-408a-9d66-5dca29257bb2.exe

(Note: %User Startup% is the current user's Startup folder, which is usually C:\Documents and Settings\{user}\Start Menu\Programs\Startup on Windows 2000 and XP, and C:\Documents and Settings\{User name}\Start Menu\Programs\Startup on Windows Vista, 7, and 8.)

Information Theft

This Ransomware gathers the following data:

  • Files(And also state if encryptable, viewable, or unsupported)

This Ransomware sends the gathered information via HTTP POST to the following URL:

  • http://{BLOCKED}kgov.uk/action/?action=files&username={ComputerName}%5C{Username}&computer={ComputerName}

  • After clicking Purchase Key, display the following window:
  • After clicking the check button which says Purchase Key display the following window:
  • After clicking the close button, deletes self and the dropped copy in startup and exits
