This Ransomware arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

This Ransomware adds the following registry entries as part of its installation routine:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\
Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon
Shell = "%SystemRoot%\EnderRansom.exe"

(Note: The default value data of the said registry entry is "explorer.exe".)

This Ransomware displays a pop-up window with the following message:


It does the following:

  • It displays several windows once the following keys are entered:
    • "aRmLgk8wb0WK5q7"
    • "byBkPAa1oZ"
    • "EnderISTheBEST"
      • *
  • It also modifies the registry back to “explorer.exe” once the keys are entered.
  • It does not encrypt any files.
