This Ransomware appends the following extension to the file name of the encrypted files:

  • {file name}.{file extension}.Clop

It drops the following file(s) as ransom note:

  • {all encrypted path}\CIopReadMe.txt

It leaves text files that serve as ransom notes containing the following text:

    All files on each host in the networks have been encrypted with a strong algorithm.
    Backups were either encrypted or deleted or backup disks were formatted.
